About Darla Bruno

I'm a native western Pennsylvanian and got my start in photography with a Kodak 110 Instamatic camera. It was a great little, take anywhere camera that was easy to use and let me concentrate on learning composition rather than controls.  I dabbled a bit with a Polaroid and finally received a 35 mm Mamiya camera as a graduation gift in lieu of a graduation ring, at my request.  I had plans to go to college and major in commercial art and minor in photography.  But life had other plans, and oops, I ended up with a career in IT.  Eventually, the digital camera revolution took place, allowing me to hone my skills without burying myself in rolls of film.  I enjoyed photography as much as ever, but it was mostly dedicated to my vacations.

Then, in 2012, I moved to New Hampshire and the great beauty of the state and the New England region in general inspired me to pursue my passion for photography more vigorously.

It is my hope that my landscape and wildlife photos will inspire others to appreciate this wild, wonderful, beautiful world we have, embrace it and protect it for future generations to enjoy.

Pets have always been important to me and I strive to capture those traits that endear those pets to their guardians.

I like to capture people in the act of being themselves and using natural light.  For family portraits I like to use locations that have some special meaning for the family rather than a studio.

I invite you to view my portfolio and galleries and I hope you'll find something takes your breath away or at least makes you smile.
